More than 470,000 animals culled due to sheep and goat pox

The sheep and goat pox outbreak in Greece has led to 470,274 animals being culled so far, according to updated figures officials provided Thursday. The highly-contagious disease doesn’t affect humans but the outbreak has severely impacted Greece’s important livestock farming sector, fuelling unrest that contributed to the ongoing farmers’ protests.
